this is not a home thing...but it happened at home...
as happens on many occasions, i assault jordan with a hug, or simply lean into him-falling-waiting to be caught. this time i leapt into his arms and wrapped around him like a koala. to which his reaction was, naturally, to front squat me.
which, naturally, resulted in a full-on front to back tearing of his very favorite church slacks.
the bottom right picture depicts my reaction. that lasted for 5 mins.
jordan got new church pants. and shirts.i also did this little project--i realized my shelves had become a thing of dread, not the cute things i had dreamed them to be...! so i dug up these old cream soda bottles from an even with the whites (thanks, guys!!) and stuck some paint in 'em. i love how they turned out.
i don't love that the picture won't turn.
good thing your head will.
at target in the dollar bins, you know how they had those "grow your own" things?? well i bought myself some poppies.
and planted them! the instructions said no more than 6 seeds. those things are tiny! i'm pretty sure 7-8 slipped in, and in the back of my mind i was a little worried about overcrowding...
and now...! a month or so later, only ONE has sprouted, and it isn't even close to the 3" transplanting phase...! so inside my heart is dying a little and praying that i can please have at least one pretty poppy this summer. please please bless.
also, in case you missed the memo... remember THIS???and how i was working on it since our summer in pittsburgh??!
i finished it.
and now i don't have anywhere awesome to put it.
yet. yes, those are february decorations you see there, and i "yet" still refers to the current time... mind your own business
my cute friend keni moved out of the apartments to winnemucca! sad for us, but exciting for them. and wanted to get rid of this dresser. she was going to give it to f.i.s.h. (elko equivalent of d.i.) but i thought--pretty white furniture, what??? i can haz dresser? so she gave it to me for free!jordan and i went to pick it up while they were gone to dinner somewhere or something, and carried it out ourselves to the back of the car, drove through the parking lot with the hatch open, and it starts to downpour some serious snow. of course.
we draaag it up the stairs (thanks, crossfit, for making this possible) but i was wussing about my wrists wanting to give out, and almost quit. (it wasn't pretty). then once we made it to our landing/porch, i was like... there is no way i can even carry this another 4 feet. i quit!
UNTIL.... i thought to roll it! but what could we roll it on...?? well food storage, of course!! so that's definitely how we got this beast in the house.
and i spent the rest of the night rearranging to my heart's content. it is so nice to have the extra storage!! i'd like to thank the academy, jordan, crossfit, and keni for all their love and support.
also totally spent a saturday doing this. #nerdalert
yes, i cut and packaging taped (leftover/reused packaging tape from keni's moving!) my own cardboard dividers. like a boss. my goodness, i'm just too cheap! but i loved having an organized junk drawer!
that lasted like a week... :)
i need to consider functionality a little more strongly when i organize...
also i did this. thanks, pinterest. and mom for the can and twine. and many for moving the nevada heart. and jordan for buying us a color printer.
god bless america.

naturally a front squat is the first thing that comes to mind. and you betcha my head will turn. the bottles turned out so cute! as did your prints. i love them.
ReplyDeleteSo many fun things about this post... minus the butt shot of your husband...
ReplyDeleteButt seriously (did you see what I did there?), I love all of your crafties.
