i picked up jordan, we drove around lynchburg for a little bit, filled my rental car back up with gas, and drove to the airport to meet up with dave and kendree!
they left atlanta at the buttcrack of dawn to drive up to virginia--we were right on their way so they made a little pitstop to pick us up and take us to massnutten where the resort we were all headed to is located.
we stopped in the middle of virginia somewhere where it was pouring rain because logan had a poopy diaper and trevor needed to get out. and someone demanded that we all play ring around the rosy. so you better believe we did!
derek and edon also left at the buttcrack of dawn from new york, stopped by dulles to pick up brent and we all met in harrisburg, va at like 5 or 7pm or something to get groceries for the week. the kids were all a little stir crazy. and it was a mess trying to manage who was buying what.
we ended up with like 5 pounds of bananas and 7 bags of chips.
the main bathroom was huge, and had an awesome jetted tub (that is now a necessity in my dream house. i've recently come to love baths. like a lot) that the children all took nightly baths in. and had a blast. it was adorable.
day 2 (sunday)
we went to church. and thought we were going to be a half hour late-- jordan took us to the wrong church address, and we showed up to this tiny 5 room building 45 mins before their sacrament meeting started! we double their attendance. and it was quite the ordeal. but oh, the memories! the virginia countryside is beautiful.
we read lots of stories, played lots of ipads, ran inside and outside and screamed and laughed and played. it was chaos all week.
also it snowed. THAT'S fine.
day 3 (monday)
derek, edon, jordan and i went on a tour of the resort, listened to a sales pitch and got free tickets to the indoor water park (it sucked. the tour, not the water park),
and we all spent the afternoon at the waterpark and it was weird to not have the sun shining while you play in the water! it was fun though. i'd had my fill after 2 hours, though--and kendree and i headed back to put logan down for a nap, and i slept too.
we all took turns making dinners and lunches and breakfast and hung out after the kids went to bed.
day 4 (tuesday)
we drove an hour and a half to monticello: thomas jefferson's house --it was really cool! i love how ingenious he was, and that his house reflects that. all his little inventions.
day 5 (wednesday)
we drove to d.c. (2 hours away) to pick up lindsay and julie at dulles, then spent the day at arlington and the national mall. i like d.c. a lot. it was my goal to see the cherry blossoms!! but, they weren't quite out.
except for this tree at arlington
it was a long, late, tired drive home.
this night we also told all the parents to plan a date night, bathed the children and stuck them on the hide-a-bed to watch a movie. free and easy babysitting! whammo kablammo. that's how we do.
day 6 (thursday)
zipline and luray caverns. fastest zipline ever, and it was a little chilly for it, but the snow had all melted, so it was fun. and the caverns were way cool. it's been too long since i was in timanogas cave, but i think it's similar to that. there were a couple museums around that our ticket got us into, so we looked at old cars from creation to now, and some other random stuff from life way back when. also we bought souvenirs.
also the bubbliest bath--in the reflection you can see baby logan having his own little bath in the sink-ha! i think we all loved it.
day 7 (friday)
i don't remember what we did this day. and i don't have any pictures to spark my memory. but we did get packed up and ready to go in the evening.
but here are some pictures of the sleep car dave and i commanded on the way to luray caverns.
day 8 (saturday)
we left at 5am so dave and kendree could make it back to ga before 4:30 to return their rental car. that gave jordan and i about 5 hours to kill at the tiny lynchburg airport. we had dave and kendree drop us off at the hotel that i did my filming at with my group--i remembered it had a nice lobby, and we bought hard. i was so furious, because i had been doing so so well, and if i was going to be sick at 7am, why wouldn't it start at 5 when we first got started???

| this is that couch i was zonked out on. please bless that pillow was clean.. |
luckily i had meds to combat the symptoms, but i couldn't get out of the bathroom for fear of losing it out of both ends. jordan texted me and i found out i'd been gone a half hour. i made it back out, popped my xanax and zofran, ran back to the bathroom just in case, and then stumbled out to a couch and laid down 20 mins later. apparently i slept for 2-3 hours and it was time to go... but when i woke up i felt better! jordan is the greatest for getting my breakfast bagged, and sitting by me while i slept. i sure love him.
and not feeling sick. i sure love that too.
the hotel called us a taxi, we jumped in (man taxi's are sketchy!) paid the man his $10, and got ourselves into the airport.
we met a lovely lady who chatted with us for a few minutes--she was on my flight, and we had something in common but i've forgotten what is was, now. she was lovely.
i bought lunch on my layover and unfortunately sat right across from a creepy employee on his lunch break. he was very friendly...saw the cutest family waiting to board our flight, and i also found ryan gosling.

| sometimes it's nice to be short. when all you want is to put your feet up..so you fold up on to of the tray |
it was the longest 2 weeks ever, but certainly eventful! and we had a great vacation--it's so fun to get to see family that lives across the country. big thanks to derek and edon for setting it up, and to brent and julie for helping pay for so much!
i sure love my family. they're kind of the best.
