sam's blessing + the rest of my birthday

sunday was sam's blessing, so we carpooled to brigham for the blessed event! and the only thing that will get jordo to smile in a picture is
the amount of effort i go to to get a picture with him. smiling. works every time. because he's laughing at me being crazy, not smiling for the picture. but i win!!
unfortunately, no one saved up a bench, so jordans max and i got our own seat. and holy cow are they cute with little boys.
this cute cousin of mine came up, too! the sweetest.

holy cow. guess how much i love my family??

after we got back from the blessing, jordan and i headed to the brough's for dinner and the most delicious birthday cake. oh, so much cake.
kudzu kept creeping up during dinner...
we also had some birthdays ti get ready for, so we handmade some cards to send off. i think we did a really stellar job. we'll be opening a shop soon.

mand came down with her kiddos since paul had a fishing trip. so i got to see them for the two days we were still there!! best news. and giving max a nap, we just had to have aunt kate in with us. so she brought her homework in to accommodate his requests.

ooh i just love little naked bums!
papa and his grandsons... talk about heart melter!
this makes me want to cry!
homeboy got everyone to circle his crib to sing him goodnight songs. he's totally not spoiled.

papa manned the fort and we ladies ventured to target. have you seen these foam hats?? holy crap i want them all.
when we got home, jordan got to meet mr sam for the first time!
talk about more heart melting.
this man is going to be the best baby daddy.
and you try to tell me this lady isn't the cutest grandma. :)
i take too many pictures. and they're all of my nephews. and i'm not even sorry.

:birthday weekend:

the monday and tuesday after my birthday jordan was doing some recruiting at the U for newmont, so we left friday morning and spent the whole weekend in salt lake! it was delightful
we walked in to these cutest and most festive decorations! i'm serious. my mom makes birthdays the best.
it doesn't feel like a birthday unless there are decorations and banners. and she always makes a cake.
even if it's chocolate and she can't eat it! and she let me decorate it, cause that's all i wanted.
we tried melting white chocolate. but i suck at melting chocolate...
but mama had pearls! so we combined our efforts and filled the letters. and it was the best.

and before it was even my birthday, i had all these presents..! talk about lucky.
jordo joined us and we had dinner at sweet tomatoes-- another prestwich tradition
birthday morning i woke up to a couple treasures and opened my cards..! and everyone left... hahaha
so i was on my own for a couple hours while jordan worked out, my mom went to class, dad was at work and kate at school... so i walked to the neighbor's yard sale.
after jordan got home, we went up to salt lake to visit our friends we miss so much!
we spent an hour with the jenkins', and their cute dog macey, boys sam and lars. and all of ashton's clothes after cleaning out her closet! they are the sweetest. and the best. man we miss being able to hang out with them.
we also got to see jordan's best friend and their sweet little boy..! he had just woken up from his nap, but sure let me put cars on his head... ha!
we drove cars and chatted about life.
and holy cow, talk about precious...!
on our way home we stopped by jordo's new digs. they just happen to have a rock wall in a storage room. you best believe we took advantage of it
all i wanted for my birthday was to play games! so we all sat down and played cranium for hours!
look at that kids face. ha! i love him.
he also shot a tiny ball of playdough into jordan's mouth as a joke. except they actually made it! so sick.
and this happened. with all the dollar bills... ha! i have no idea where the money came from.
but i had a lovely birthday. thanks family, for spending time with me. :)

|| bard in the yard ||

i got home from brigham just in time to see brent and julie, who were in town for brent's aunt's 100 year old birthday... talk about impressive!

but first we got invited to elko's second annual "bard in the yard": a shakespearapalooza!!
an intimate gathering of 50 in the back courtyard of a local bar/cafe. and they sold out!! in elko! wtf, right? elko is starving for culture! ha.
it was....hilarious. and then weird. and then hilarious. with a side of drunk james in full kilt (see below)
we were lucky enough to be right next to some of the action

this guy was the cause for all of the hilarity. homeboy totally self tans  a n d  shaves his legs. but does a good job acting.
also, amy poehler's twin..!!
after the...cultural enrichment, we met up with jordan's parents at mcdonalds for some hot chocolate (it was  s o o  cold!) and i witnessed three teens "hanging out" in 2013.  ... oh, society.
we chatted there, then went back to our place to relax, get ready for bed, and visited til late! we were all a little tired..

next morning we had a delicious breakfast, and all fit on our little couch before getting ready for church..! i just thought it was hilarious. and the greatest.
we all got ready for church, and  t h i s  guy.  he sure is the greatest father in-law a girl could ever even dream of..! so grateful for my awesome in-laws. i am the luckiest. thank goodness that salt lake is only 3 hours away..!
