my cute honey turned 25 on saturday! so now we can rent cars without an extra fee. woot. 

we spent the weekend in salt lake, and got a sub for our sunday school class so we could stay extra long. it was such a nice weekend, and i think jordan had fun. 

some favorites from the weekend: lindsay decided she and julie needed to waltz. so they did. and then kudzu decided he needed to waltz too. and jumped on lindsay's leg. it was funny. mostly i love that there is always dancing at the brough's.

morning time is bedsharing time. we are all friends--lindsay came to hang out before piano and jordan and i enjoyed sleeping in/relaxing. so we chatted/visited. i love staying in bed like nobody's business.

we went to lunch at zupas with julie and lindsay. jordan waited outside, we waited inside. 

we went to my parents house for dinner--mandy and max were there outside, jumping on the tramp so we went to join them.

no matter how much we facetime, i will never cease to be astounded when i see max in person and hear how big he's getting--seriously, sentences are forming and his little brain is just growing. i can't handle it!

wednesday morning before we left and while i was still trying to finish my last class before summer, i decided to throw jordan a little surprise party! (again...) i tried one last year and we only had two people show up. so i was really hoping to have better luck this year. really i should just stop the surprising. 

julie and lindsay helped me set things up while we were gone at my parent's house--bought and cut up fruit, picked up balloons, everything. we have the greatest family. :)

someone please remind me next time i think it's such a great idea to buy balloons that balloons are more useless than flowers. but not as pretty. and to not waste my money.
except for if your nephew comes over to play. then they're a little less of a waste. but mostly they still are.

friends and family showed up to surprise jordan! taylor brought rock band and we sung/played our little hearts out, eating fresh fruit and chips and salsa--jordan's favorite snacks. 

we have some of the greatest people in our lives.

and i always love watching people play the drums.

saturday morning our friend talmage set up a pickup game so jordan could come play with his friends! it was so much fun. i miss all these boys and it was so good to see everyone again, and to see jordan doing what he loves.

after, we met brent julie and lindsay at rodizio grill in trolley square. it was so so delicious. 

i love this sunshine of mine! i made him take a picture with me--and he was trying to hide that he was on the phone.

when we got home sunday night, this little birthday banner was taped to our door--! A 1 million kg kettlebell and a soccer ball. from those sweet friends matt and grace, WHO JUST GOT ENGAGED! so excited for them. we have a birthday sign thing going on...and it's the best. we give them a birthday sign taped to one of their doors, and they save it and use the back for one of our birthdays. ha! the best.

jordan is the world's greatest. he just is the perfect fit for me--we can be crazy, make each other laugh til we cry, watch and enjoy most of the same shows, support each other in what we love to do, he washes the dishes, or cooks when i absolutely do not feel like making dinner, deep cleans the house like a boss,  encourages me to be healthy, to always do my best, he cheers my successes, we're working on sympathy for my losses ;), and always does the best things that make me so happy. he is so good to me. 

sure, sometimes he drives me crazy, and the fact that he never empties his lunch when he comes home or leaves his stuff sprawled in places that make me nuts, he deals with the fact that i am so particular about the way our home looks, and eats leftovers for days and makes himself something to take if i only made breakfast for dinner the night before leaving him nothing to take the next day. he teaches me portuguese and takes me all over the world. 

i love you, jordan defriez! thank you for making my life so much happier, more exciting and full than it ever would have been without you. eu te amo minha vida e coração.
