matt and grace got married in tahoe : 9.14.13 : we headed out after jordan got off work friday afternoon for the 5 hour drive.
we had a great set of audio books, car was filled up, and snacks in the bag. it had been... a rough week. i knew it was going to be a quick weekend, but i was so e x c i t e d to have a trip with my love..!and seriously. talk about GORGEOUS. again: no editing! no filters! i was in heaven.
these were right after the california border.
we weren't supposed to ever leave nevada... their wedding was a resort in stateline. but the gps took us to the california side of the lake.
i can honestly say i've never been more glad for a detour. ever.
"scenic route" doesn't do it justice..
by the time we made it here though, and realized we had another hour and a half around the lake to the right side (with me laughing hysterically that we weren't actually "there"...and jordan kind of ticked. you know. him and going places)
then once we got to the right side of the lake, we drove around for 30 mins back and forth searching for our cheapest motel options. and the cheapest one listed didn't even exist! ha. we finally decided on this overpriced beauty. but it was warm, and lovely, and had a hot shower and a bed. :)
next morning, we got ready and headed to the resort to help set up for the wedding
it turned out so gorgeous! we were so happy to be there, and so lucky to be a part of it
i was in charge of setting up communion. uhhhhhh..... guys?? i've never even seen what communion looks like--how am i supposed to set it up for one of the most important days of your lives?? thanks, google. turns out there wasn't anything special to do.
and i didn't ruin their big day. :)
after cocktail hour and lunch, we hopped over to the lake to get some pictures on the beach, but not before getting the ceremony cleaned up. *insert cry laughing face here* this guy. he kills me.
aren't those cupcakes the most gorgeous things you've ever seen??
very simple. just like them. loved the whole thing.
cute kids.
tahoe is gorgeous. i can't wait to go back to spend some time on the lake
after the pictures, we decided to walk around town. jordan had to take some work calls semi-often. but you better believe that didn't keep me from snapping shots!
we were all going to meet up for dinner at a restaurant, but ended up gathering in a hotel room, eating appetizers these lovely ladies from newmont just basically threw together from their groceries in their fridge! and then ordered pizza and chinese... that took an hour to get to us..! ha. we sat around and visited, semi watched fast and furious, and ate til we burst. i can't tell you how good a time it was...! to be surrounded by good food and good (albeit some drunk) people. by the end of the night, we left to our hotel room (we ended up getting a room at the resort for just $20 more a night than we spent at the motel.. totally worth it. except we walked to our room, laid down on the bed and played around to find our sleep numbers-- and that was the last i remembered. i woke up at 6am under half the covers still in my clothes. hahahahaha. it was the world's best weekend...! we woke up and got packed up, hit the road, and found a random church on the road that we just happened to nail the sacrament meeting time for.
you better believe we showed up in our jeans! and never have i got more questions of if we're new/investigators. hahaha. so many friendly souls. we had our audio book to get back home, and a lovely drive.
i love lake tahoe. i can't wait to go back.

I think we should maybe go on a trip together. Maybe to...Tahoe or something.
