It's 11:18.

I'm sitting at the SLC International Airport, and I have made it through breakfast, errands, the gym, a doctors appointment, eye dilation, lunch, drive to Utah, more errands, dinner, and hanging out at the airport.

DID I MENTION I ATE 3 MEALS?? And that we are "hanging out" at the airport? Not- I layed in bed and dry heaved all morning when I wasn't trying to sleep and barely made it to the airport and past the gates on 2 grapes and water, popping Klonopin and praying it kicks in quick.

GUYS. I have been on citalopram for something like a year now, and I am now able to do things like this, embrace adventure and live my life unhampered by sickness. Like a normal person. And it feels so good.

Brazil, here we come.

oregon daze

we decided to take a road trip back with edon, julie and the kids after they were in town for grandpa d's 80th. i started us out on the driving, because after too long in a car i'm out and useless.
god bless frozen and cruise control
the whole drive was pretty uneventful, once we got out of the driveway--no one had shut the hatch on the van and we noticed as i was backing out. hahahaha
we stopped in a tiny town in oregon and, after having our gas pumped for us, waited what felt like an eternity for a little breakfast/lunch in a bar/restaurant where everybody knew everyone. and even though it was something like 10:00 (maybe 2:00... i don't remember) an older gentleman's friends were insisting on taking his keys.

the drive was not too bad, until the last couple hours. we were all sick of being in the car, and had taken the way through snowy mountain peaks, and there was lots of tapping the breaks and car sickness and kids fighting. but before all that we had a good time! and my little jackson buddy. he just kills me.
we pulled into eugene and derek was cleaning the house. he said we were like an hour early? fine by me! after dinner and a game, jordan and i bathed the children and read stories before bedtime.

isn't this gorgeous? oregon is so beautiful.

there was lots of lego building (star wars legos, mind you), hair styling, snuggling, movie watching, hide and seek playing, park walking, crossfit dog friend making, mongolian bbq lunches, voodoo donuting, museum browsing, and coast exploring. i think the coast was my favorite.

we stayed for a whole week, then flew home. and i wasn't even sick ONCE. if that's not a christmas miracle...i don't know what is.

moments

john mayer and sara b playing in the background, oreos strawberries coolwhip and nutella scattered on the table, warm but cool summer night outside, and kids setting up a tent for a sleepover while we invite more people over to enjoy the night.
i have a paper to get written before people come over to our house for jordan's birthday, and so we can celebrate, but it doesn't matter. i do what i can where i can, and just remember to stop and take a minute to simply bask in the moment.
